Handwoven throw blanket with stripes of marshmallow pink, vanilla white and earl grey. Woven with Millpost Merino superfine merino wool, grown on a permaculture property in the Southern Tablelands of NSW.
Approximate size is 165cm x 105cm (all handwoven products are slightly variable in size).
Each Sunday Woven blanket is totally unique, telling the story of the hands that made it. Sunday Woven blankets are always woven with care and attention to detail, but they will never look like machine-made products and each will have their own small imperfections - this is the joy of handmade.
Resource use has been carefully considered of throughout the process of making this blanket. Wool is sourced from an ethical, Australian company and bought in bulk so as to minimise packaging. The plastic bags wool is shipped in are reused in my studio for storage of wool and finished products. Water used to full the blankets is rain tank water heated by solar. Once the fulling is complete, the water is allowed to cool and used in my garden. The small handful of final offcuts is the only wool waste and is composted in our compost bin.
